Designed and Developed in France

    • Robust and hardy, the Bactrian camel is perfectly adapted to the extreme conditions of the steppes and deserts of Central Asia. Easily recognizable by its two humps, it differs from the dromedary, which has only one.

Its humps contain fat reserves, not water, which allow it to survive for several days without food. Surprisingly, its thick fleece protects it from both the freezing winter cold and the summer heat. A herbivore, it feeds on dry vegetation and can drink up to 100 liters of water in one go when it can find it. Domesticated for thousands of years, it was long essential for transporting caravans along the Silk Road.

This Papo figurine faithfully recreates the Bactrian camel: thick fur, long, sturdy legs, and characteristic humps. An ideal model to complete a collection of wild animals, invent stories from the Orient, or educate children about the incredible adaptations of the animal world.

Once Upon a Time There was Papo

For almost 25 years now, Papo has been helping children to grow and to discover the world around them. Childhood is a time of dreams and adventures, and this was what we had in mind when we decided to create our first princesses, princes, dragons and knights. Thanks to the originality of its products and the extreme care taken with product quality and safety, Papo has won children and parents over the years. Papo is now a reference in the world of model figures and continues to develop new ranges to inspire the imaginations of children all around the world. In an age of mass consumption and throwaway goods, Papo continues to produce fine quality toys that last over time and can be passed on from generation to generation.
